The Jordan Trail

The Jordan Trail is a successful initiative stemming from the enthusiasm of volunteers passionated by wandering and trekking as well as members of the local communities. All joined their efforts and their passion for creating a sustainable hiking itinerary that is nowadays internationally recognized and rewarded. It is a 675 hiking trail running the length of Jordan from the archaeological site of Um Qais, till the beach of the Jordanian coastal city of Aqaba.  It gets through villages, small cities, rural and Bedouin communities, a diversity that will certainly surprise you!

The Jordan Trail offers an accurate travel plan allowing to hike from area to area with the technical support of an application, maps, charts, descriptions, telephone numbers and any useful information. Following the plan, you will spend overnights in homestays, boutique hotels or eventually campings, where tents and sleeping material are provided. The encounters you will experience along the trail will be memorable!

You can hike independently, yet we recommend you to be accompanied. This support can be provided by the local contacts living in the communities, who have a perfect field knowledge.

The Trail is divided into 8 sections including each one 3, 4 or 5 days with an average of about 18km each. Some stages are more challenging than others. Generally speaking, it is requested to be a good rambler and in excellent physical condition. Drops may be important and the you may be often exposed to strong sun. The best seasons for hiking are spring and autumn. However, in the spring, you may eventually have to take in consideration the weather conditions and the risk of rains that can induce floods.
